On the way to Courtland

Courtland's jail was built of concrete, making it sturdy enough to foil prisoner escapes and to survive to the present time. It is equal to Gleeson's jail.

Courtland is completely deserted. Once, however, Courtland thrived. In 1909 several hundred people swarmed to the region as the Calumet and Arizona, Copper Queen, Leadville, and Great Western mining companies all began operations. Eventually, home to about 2000 people, Courtland had a post office, newspaper, movie theater, butcher shop and more. The town survived into the Depression but lost its post office in 1942. By the time many of the buildings had already been moved or razed.

If you look closer, you see that this rattle snake is dead (injury on the left). Apparently, a car has passed over it.
